Hello everyone! The husband and I just got back from Hawaii today and boy are we exhausted! I have not slept in awhile and it is time for me to get some much needed shut eye! I will post some pictures tomorrow of my little excursion but I wanted to post a video of something I did when I was in Hawaii. I am so proud of myself for doing it so of course I have to brag! The husband and I went kayaking in Kailua Bay. We did a four hour kayak trip through the company Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks, Inc. We had two of the most adorable guides take us to the Mokulua Islands where we had a picnic lunch. Here is a video I found from their website that pretty much documents what the husband and I did. However, the day we went it was super duper windy and the waves were huge! It was an interesting first kayaking experience for me that is for sure! If you are ever on Oahu I highly recommend doing this little adventure!

Hawaii Bound!
These were pictures taken last year when I went to Hawaii...I am very excited that I will be going back tomorrow! The husband and I will be in Oahu..specifically Waikiki Beach! So I will not be posting for the duration of our vacation...10 whole days! Hope you have a lovely week and I will post as soon as I get back!
Cottage Garden
Isn't this the most lovely garden? I just adore cottage gardens, they are so quaint and inspiring! I found this picture from the english garden a very cute website all about gardening (obviously!) If you want some inspiration on gardening, check it out!
My garden is slowly growing, usually in July and August it looks the best! Here are some pictures of my garden from last year:

The sketchbook project
Last summer I participated in arthouse co-op's sketchbook project. I sent away for a small little sketchbook and had to fill as much as I could with sketches, drawings, collage, etc. based on the theme, "How to Save the World?" Click
here to see pictures of my sketchbook from last year.
Well Arthouse just sent me an email about participating in their fourth sketchbook project. I am thinking about it...if you are interested in participating you should click here for more info!
Here is a cool video cnn.com did over the last sketchbook project...these guys at Arthouse are awesome and have such cool ideas:)

Wednesday Music Lovin'
Here is Feist's song Mushaboom....I know it is an older song but I just love it and the video! I love all of Feist's videos...every video on MTV and VH1 should be like hers...so fun:) Many of you who know me will recognize this song as being the song that plays whenever I get a text message. I have had it on my phone for two years! That is how much I love it:) Hope everyone is having a good week so far, I just finished a 12 page paper tonight so I have a lot to celebrate! The husband and I are going to Hawaii on Saturday so I still have lots of school work to do since I am going to be gone all week!
Have a great day!

New art and sketchbook sharing!
I finished this artwork a little while ago but have not had time to post it...oh how I miss doing art! I cannot wait until my summer classes are over with! I am planning on doing a second one similar to this one so they can be hung together!
Here is an artwork that I did in college for fun (almost 9 years ago!) It is so simple yet one of my favorite artworks that I have done. I usually keep it in my classroom throughout the year but brought it home over the summer to look at for inspiration!
I was looking through some of my old sketchbooks and came across these pages I thought i would share with you! Sometimes I like to go through magazines and cut out pictures and patterns that inspire me and sometimes I use them as starting points for my own artwork. I love this Chinese Proverb also: Buy the best and only cry once!
Here is another one from the same sketchbook:
Ever since I was little I loved going through home decorating magazines and cutting out pictures that inspired me. Where do you find your inspiration?

Magic Bullet Latte
Hello! I have been horrible about writing on here (as usual!) because I am enrolled in two summer classes and they are sooooo demanding! Consequently I have been drinking a TON of coffee to keep myself going. I love coffee...love, love, love it! I usually drink it black but have been getting kind of sick of the taste of coffee. I needed something to spice it up and keep coffee interesting. So guess what I did?! I used the Magic Bullet (seriously the most amazing device for people like me who like to blend things!) and created a latte! No trips to Starbucks needed! Now I realize that there are many gadgets on the market that foam milk but I am not a gadget girl! I hate trying to find a place for all of them! The Magic Bullet Latte is pretty easy to make.
Step 1: Put about a 1/2 cup of milk into the Magic Bullet.
Step 2: Blend it for about 20-30 seconds.
Step 3: Grab a coffee cup and pour coffee into it (leave a little room for the milk!)
Step 4: Pour the milk from the Magic Bullet on top of your coffee (it should be foamy!)
Step 5: ENJOY and get your caffeine fix!
Here is the latte:
Here is me modeling the Magic Bullet Latte:
Here is me (way too excited)drinking the Magic Bullet Latte:
Here are the effects the latte has on my studying:
Pretty impressive huh?!
Ok, time for me to go back to work! Have a great day and if you have a Magic Bullet...give this a whirl:)

The Firefly-Art Pen Pals
This is a cute illustration my aunt Mac drew and mailed to me a couple of weeks ago. My Aunt Mac is my art pen pal and I love getting her beautiful and sometimes hilarious drawings in the mail. If you do not have an art pen pal, I strongly suggest that you get one! All you do is find a lovely person who will exchange random drawings, paintings and collages with you through the mail. There are no rules, just make sure to send something back!
Since school is OUT (thank goodness!) I will become a much better pen pal...I have been slacking lately!
By the way...today marks the FIRST day of summer for me! YAY! I hope you are all enjoying your summer!

Tropical Bird
Here is one of my latest artworks called Tropical Bird. It was influenced by my upcoming trip to Hawaii in two weeks. Did I mention that I am pretty excited about this trip?! I need a vacation for sure!
I just love how travel really influences an artist and their artwork. I find that whenever I go anywhere (even just to another state!) I am somehow inspired. Where is the most inspiring place you have ever gone?

This goes out to all of the Daves out there...
Do you remember Kids in the Hall? This show used to be on Comedy Central in the 90's and was hilarious! I found this on youtube recently and had to post it because it made me laugh...I am dedicating this out to my cousin David!
