Watercolor Sketches

Wow! 2 posts in one day! I will even be posting one of my 10 minute sketches later so that will make 3 posts! I am posting some watercolor sketches my painting students completed awhile ago. I had them hanging on a bulletin board and was unable to photograph them well. These sketches allowed students to play around with watercolors and try different techniques such as masking fluid, rubbing alcohol, salt and lifting out colors. If you would like to see a cool site that has a ton of free demonstrations on these techniques, click here.. If you still have not entered my art giveaway please do so!!!! 1. pace yourself, michelle ;)! i love the watercolor sketches from your students. i've dabble in watercolors myself and it is SO hard! but, the beautiful transparencies are so worth it. hmmm ... lightbulb ... i think that's what i'm missing in my photos, the softness.

  5. Thank you everyone for commenting on my students art! They are so talented!

Becky- my only tips for you are to have fun (of course!) and to remember to work light to dark with watercolors. Whatever color you put down first will show through a little in the end! Also really learn to mix colors and not use colors straight from the tube (a rule for painting in general!) Check out the technique link I put into the post, there are some great techniques! Good luck:)
