Organization

Today I am going crazy organizing my closet, my desk, school stuff, etc!  It is wearing me out!  I finally went through my closet and figured out what pants, skirts and dresses will no longer fit me since being pregnant...so depressing!  There is a small amount of clothes that will still fit...so of course I must go shopping! Most of my shirts are pretty flowy and loose so I at least have a bunch of tops to wear once school starts.  Today I had a doctor's appointment and I got on the scale and almost gasped!  Wow..this baby girl is growing!  Everything else was fine at the doctor's which was awesome because I tend to be a worrier!

Anyways here is my semi-organized desk space....I have this overwhelming desire to throw away anything that I have not used in awhile.  Maybe I am nesting already?!

Mr. Jack Henry stayed by my side as I organized and cleaned.

I don't know how he feels about getting his picture taken..he looks a little wary of the camera!

Well I am off to relax after a day of organizing!  Tomorrow I am going to my classroom for the first time all summer!  I must mentally prepare myself on going back:)  My new W magazine came so I am going to lose myself in some fall fashion!

Have a great day!

Relaxing...

Today the husband and I are going to be relaxing and getting ready for a crazy week tomorrow. A lot of life changing events are taking place in our household and it can be very stressful at times!

I am quite notorious for getting overly stressed out and my husband is very laid back. We compliment each other in that respect...er...maybe he just compliments me and helps me chill out!

When I get stressed out, this is what helps me relax:
1. Light a candle and put on Madeleine Peyroux or Norah Jones (the Norah Jones channel on pandora is amazing!)

2. I go running...I find this helps a lot especially if I have a great mix on my ipod.

3. Paint/draw...anything...mix colors, collage things, anything that is fun!

4. Read something mindless....like fashion magazines and home decorating magazines...oh and those chick lit books make me smile as well!

5. Chocolate...yep...no way around it. I prefer my chocolate with a big mug of coffee...this usually leads to numerous amounts of chocolate but oh well...it is only to help with the destressing process!

6. Writing letters to friends and family...something therapeutic about letter writing (not email...actual letters!) I have such a thing for pretty stationary also!

7. Shop...this is one I am going to need to stop! I adore shopping...online or in person!

8. Calling my mom. She totally helps me chill out and put things into perspective!

9. Hanging out with Mr. Jack Henry. He is my little dog and sidekick. He follows me wherever I go:)

10.Blogging! Yes, I love to blog! It helps me relax and I love reading other blogs...so fun...and addicting!

So what helps you relax?

The Lilacs...

This morning I went and picked some lilacs from our backyard. Yay! Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers! They smell divine!

Aren't they beautiful?

Jack Henry thinks so...

He just loves to smell (and sometimes eat) them.

Yay for Spring! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Little Jack Henry

Well I was going through some of my old sketchbooks the other day and I came across a collection of sketches I did of my little dog Jack Henry. Yes my dog has two names...he is a very dignified little guy! Usually when I am sketching I draw whatever is in front of me, usually Jack is laying by my side sleeping. He has gotten very lazy in his five years. I don't have much time to draw him because he is a very jumpy little guy so many of my sketches are quick drawings.

Here is the real Jack Henry:

Here are some of my sketches of little J.H

Here is my favorite and most simple sketch of Jack. It was a blind contour drawing done very quickly with a sharpie!

Jack is my muse I guess! What is your muse?
