Paisley Birds

I heart Paisleys and Birds....so I combined them! The best of both worlds for me! Hope your weekend is going swell...we recently got a new oven and have been making vegetarian chili all weekend to keep ourselves warm! Check out our new and improved oven:

This is my life..

So lately I have not been posting to this blog as regularly as I would like....well..let me tell you what I pretty much do everyday that keeps me from posting.

First I teach all day long...then I come home and READ and WRITE PAPERS for my masters classes...blah!

But then I drink lots of coffee to keep me awake!

Bosco

Well I hope everyone has had an enjoyable weekend so far! I have been reading and writing papers last night and today! Thought I would take a quick break to post a fun sketchbook I did of my in-laws chocolate lab named Bosco. He is so sweet and nice and I thought he would be a great subject for a drawing! I did a "spread" drawing of Bosco (on two pages) using acrylic,watercolor pencils and collage elements.

New artwork

On Saturday I worked on a new collage for my etsy shop. I call it Organic 1. I am so inspired by nature and all of the beautiful colors of spring! It felt so good to make some art, I have been so stressed with school and teaching that I feel I have no time for art anymore! I cannot wait until summer when I can make LOTS of art! Hope your Tuesday was wonderful, mine was ok...I have been reading about educational theory all night! YUCK!

LOVE

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day. The husband and I really did not do anything too special. He repainted part of our kitchen and I worked on some new art that I will be posting soon and hopefully will be putting into my etsy shop.

The husband and I have been together since we were in high school, we actually just celebrated our 10 year anniversary of being together! We have been married for almost 3 of those years! Sometimes just being together is what makes things special!

Hope you get to do something with the one you love today! The husband and I will be together inside today working on our own fun projects. It is snowing once again in Cleveland and not great weather to go out in! I will be working on some new art today and the husband is remodeling our kitchen...or at least beginning to! Our kitchen is a disaster area at the moment but he assured me it is going to look awesome! Let us hope:)

Little Jack Henry

Well I was going through some of my old sketchbooks the other day and I came across a collection of sketches I did of my little dog Jack Henry. Yes my dog has two names...he is a very dignified little guy! Usually when I am sketching I draw whatever is in front of me, usually Jack is laying by my side sleeping. He has gotten very lazy in his five years. I don't have much time to draw him because he is a very jumpy little guy so many of my sketches are quick drawings.

New Art! Finally!

Tonight I worked on two Spring collages instead of reading for my masters classes ( I am sooo sick of educational theory!) I really needed some art time and I like the collages for the most part! I am still deciding if I should add some detail with paint...I might do that tomorrow if I get a chance.

Dreaming of Flowers and Warm Weather...

This is another collage in my etsy shop. It is one of my favorites because it is a mixture of some of my favorite flowers, the iris and the daisy! It is on a canvas and is one of my bigger collages. This collage was inspired by my garden:



I am so excited for the weather to finally get nice...it is 43 degrees right now and sunny...I am in heaven! I am so inspired by warm weather and everything that goes with it...flowers, birds, trees with leaves, the beach, cookouts, SUNSHINE! I know it is only February and there is still a lot more of winter left but a girl can dream can't she?! So here is to spring and everything it brings! Have a wonderful Saturday!

Pink Moon Boat

I wish it was warm enough to go sailing! Here is one of my little boat collages. I am so inspired by the water and cannot wait until I can actually go to the beach again! These Ohio winters are killing me! Stay warm and think happy thoughts! It is supposed to hit 45 this weekend for us! Yay!

Red Deer Collage

Here is a small collage I completed a little while ago. It was one in a series I started. I have had no time at all to work on art these past few days...I am so sad! I had to write a paper all evening and now I have more work to do for my masters classes! Blah! Oh well...at least I am getting smarter:) I hope! Have a great evening!

Have a happy Sunday...it is actually going to be 40 degrees here! So sad when I get excited for that! I am going to attempt to run outside today. Usually when it is snowy and icy out I run on my treadmill...I am so sick of it though! Today is sunny and warmer so maybe running outside will be enjoyable?! We shall see! I am so ready for spring!
