Bird Nests

Random post....I keep seeing bird nests in the trees everywhere I go...so cute and adorable! Spring is on its way!

P.S. I was at Rite Aid today and they had TONS of Easter candy! YUM...I was in heaven:) I bought some coconut Hershey kisses...they are divine! They taste like the Girl Scout Somoa cookies...delicious!

New Art! Finally!

Tonight I worked on two Spring collages instead of reading for my masters classes ( I am sooo sick of educational theory!) I really needed some art time and I like the collages for the most part! I am still deciding if I should add some detail with paint...I might do that tomorrow if I get a chance.

Dreaming of Flowers and Warm Weather...

This is another collage in my etsy shop. It is one of my favorites because it is a mixture of some of my favorite flowers, the iris and the daisy! It is on a canvas and is one of my bigger collages. This collage was inspired by my garden:



I am so excited for the weather to finally get nice...it is 43 degrees right now and sunny...I am in heaven! I am so inspired by warm weather and everything that goes with it...flowers, birds, trees with leaves, the beach, cookouts, SUNSHINE! I know it is only February and there is still a lot more of winter left but a girl can dream can't she?! So here is to spring and everything it brings! Have a wonderful Saturday!

4 Seasons Drawings

I hope everyone is having a great Saturday so far! Where I live it is snowy, cold and icy out! I am happily staying in the rest of the day and plan on drinking a LOT of hot chocolate!

I wanted to post some drawings completed by my Introduction to Art students. The assignment was to complete four drawings that represent each season (Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.) Students were to use a viewfinder and look through magazines or personal photographs to find images for each season and draw with the following media: pencil, colored pencil, oil pastels and ink with watercolor. Here are some of their drawings:
